ER update

Just wanted to post an update since you ladies were so supportive last night. I ended up going to the ER because I was starting to be in a lot of pain. We arrived at the hospital at 9pm and I was discharged at 11am. LONGEST NIGHT EVER. We both didnt sleep and poor DH was in the hardest most uncomfortable chair that ever was all night long : ( the doctors were perplexed and I had to annoyingly tell them my story like 5billion times since we got a whole new set of doctors and nurses on shift before we were finally through. So it turns out that I had a ruptured luteal something cyst and it made my ute fill up with blood and then eventually started gushing out. I am still actively bleeding but the initial heaviness was just because as the doctor said so eloquently "the dam broke" good lord. So I guess I also have an infection which is what is causing most of the sensitivity. When they did the transvaginal it felt like somebody was sticking a fork up my ute and twisting my cervix and ovaries. It seemed to go on forever as they dragged two different doctors in and kept repeating the process. I guess they were able to confirm that I still have blood flow to my ovaries though despite the cysts? Apparently I was supposed to take this as encouraging news. So....we are home now and we both slept a few hours and I am medicated. This is sort of like when you have a nightmare and you dream you wake up and then the nightmare continues. I can only assume that this puta us out of the running for ttc this month. Waaaaa.mpity party for one.

Oh no. I am so sorry that you are going through this. I can relate to what you are going through since I had to be readmitted to hospital after they found 2 good chunks of placenta still in me and I started gushing and having huge clots coming out. It's just brings back all of the horrible feelings that go along with the loss when you are trying to move forwards (at least that is how I felt). I hope that you figure everything out soon and are feeling better and can get back to *normal* soon. (hugs)

I'm so glad you're out of the ER now... that sounds like a terrible night/day for you! I hope that the infection is a little one and that everything is ok in that regard! (((HUGS)))

I'm so sorry this happened, but I am so glad you got it checked out as quickly as you did. That sounds like a terrible night. Thank goodness you are at least at home now and able to sleep in a bed. Also, it is really important that they caught that infection early so I'm really relieved for you with that. I totally understand your frustration that you're being dragged back into a nightmare at a time when you were wanting to move forward.

Do you have a medical specialist following you? If so, I imagine you will be following up with them now.

Get some rest. My goodness, you certainly deserve it.

I'm so glad you posted an update, I have been thinknig about you! I'm sorry you had such a long, hellish night in the ER - but it sounds like it's a very good thing you went in. And at least they figured out what was causing the bleeding. So did they give you antibiotics for the infection? Hopefully everything heals/resolves itself quickly so you can get back to TTC...

On the bright side (?), they found the problem and it shouldn't out you out of the game for long. That being said, that really sucks! Sorry you are going through all of this. Get some rest, DH too, and take care of yourself!

Thanks ladies for your sweet words and hugs. It's amazing how much online hugs can help : ) we are eating pizza and watching good bad tv. I think the bright side is that DH finally told his boss what's been going on (he is also a good friend). His wife went through the same thing between their 2nd and 3rd child so he was super supportive to DH which is great for him. I'm on antibiotics and they gave me Prescription strength ibprofun for the swelling and bleeding which is helping. I was also happy to come home and find out that my locket from etsy was delivered. It has a small heart on the outside and on the inside it reads "a part of me apart from me". It was comforting to hold.

Glad you are beginning to feel better. Let us know how your follow up goes. I had a similar thing happen but during my period. I had just changed by tampon and 1/2 hr later felt a flood. Rushed to the bathroom and had soaked through the tampon and a pad. It was really freaky and followed by cramping. Your story has inspired me to get an appt with my ob to check it out. Best wishes.
