My daughter was EBF for 4 months. The doctor told us to introduce solids at 4 months, which we did. She had been steadily in the 50th percentile for height and weight, however at her 6 month check up her weight went down to 25th. The doctor told me to start feeding her solids 3x a day instead of 2x, which I have been. I should probably mention that she has been crawling (yes, full on crawling) and standing since 5 1/2 months....
Is this normal for BF babies to gain weight at a slower rate or be in a lower percentile?
Are there certain puree's I can make which have higher calories than others for a 6 month old?
Re: Baby weight gain
Please don't stress about it. Kids gain weight at different rates at different times. Different nurses weigh them different, if they just went to the bathroom or just ate, it changes, etc. And developmental changes- can affect them- they are burning more.
I would just add in the 3rd meal for now. You can try things like avocado, etc that have more fats.
