We have a Lamaze play gym. It has a space theme and the overhanging bars sway back and forth and there are 2 songs. I put him on his tummy on that with a safe mirror.
I also put him on his tummy on the change table and crouch down at the end so he can see my face. I only do that with DH there though just in case LO rolls.
I also put him on my chest. Or I sit on the floor with my legs out and prop his chest on my thigh. OR I put him on the floor with a wedge pillow under him.
Oh, and honestly, sometimes I throw a receiving blanket on the floor and just put him on that.
I find I have to get creative and switch it up. LO gets bored easily and only finds things novel maybe the first time or two. He seems to prefer more "organic" things like just being on a blanket or using my thigh to be propped up. He doesn't really seem to like things that are purposely stimulating. I know with our play gym, he can only handle the music and swaying for a few minutes before he fusses, but if you turn it off he's happy to lay there and look at it without all the extras.
My LO also hates tummy time. The most success I have is on my chest. I can get a few minutes on the bed when I can sit down a little and she can see my face (usually with Boppy or rolled up towel underneath.her) That's it. THe play gym is fine if she in on her back, but for tummy time- waste of money. She gets as much fun out of her mobile or the ceiling fan.
We have a Fischer Price activity mat (some jungle theme) that DS loves. He prefers to be on his back and looking at everything, but he will do tummy time on that. As pp said, I will lay a blanket on the floor and he does pretty well with that. I have also laid him on my chest and my thighs, both of which he seems to enjoy. He hasn't ever minded tummy time, though, so I guess I'm lucky!
in the morning after I've changed her diaper, I put her on her belly for a minutes or so... then after her first bottle of the morning, and after she's been done playing for a little bit i put her on her belly and I have this snail that lights up that she absolutly loves. She'll stay on her belly for about 5-7 minutes if I have this sitting infront of her. I just try to find different toys and noises that will keep her interested.
Even though we do alot of tummy time, she still has a flat head ....=/ not sure what to do about it though...

I also find that DS does well with tummy time in the crib. He's getting really good at holding himself up!
