Looking for toy suggestions for 3 year old for big sister gift

We are expecting baby #2 any day/week now and I want to get DD something as a big sister gift. She has an excellent imagination and I am looking for something to indulge her imagination, but money is tight given baby #2's upcoming arrival and my upcoming partially unpaid maternity leave! I saw a Littlest Pet Shop set at Target and wondered how those were (she doesnt have anything like that). We already have a toy kitchen, but not a doll house, but I'd prefer to wait on a doll house until a time when I can afford to get something nicer than what I'm willing to spend right now. And I'm not looking for anything electronic really, because we have an iPad which I'm sure she will be using more than I'd prefer once I am home with baby and her : )

Price wise- I'm looking to keep it under 40.

Trying for #2 since July 2010
BFP 8/1/10, missed m/c, D&C 9/15/10.
BFP 1/8/11, chemical pregnancy.
BFP 3/4/11, measured behind all along, no more HB 4/18/11. D&C 4/29/11. HCG didn't drop, Repeat D&C 6/17/11; confirmed molar pregnancy 6/23/11.
Forced break, including two Hysteroscopies in October to remove retained tissue.
BFP 12/29/11! Betas @ 10 dpo = 85, 14 dpo= 498, 22 dpo = 7242
Heard HB 1/24/12. 144 bpm!

    Does she have a realistic-ish looking baby doll? We got DD a doll with some outfits and a little bag to keep her doll stuff in. We would change diapers together and she would put her doll in the carseat, pretend to nurse the doll, and put the doll in the newborn outfits.

    Magnatiles keep DD really busy and she creates little houses/cages/train cars for small animals. Also uses them for plates and pizza slices. They are about $50

    Also any Melissa and Doug food things.. Cupcakes are a hit here. Or the Melissa and Doug magnetic dress up people.

    All good ideas. She does have some realistic dolls, and has a little car seat, stroller, and baby carrier. The Melissa Doug Magnetic dolls/cloths are a good idea though! I forgot all about those.

    We got DD a baby doll w/ accessories: changing table, high chair, bassinet bundle (Fisher price, maybe).  A camera is a good idea.  You will probably be taking a lot of pics w/ the NB and she may want to share in on the activity?

    We got DS a fun backpack to make him feel like a big kid, and filled it with stuff to keep him entertained once we brought DD home - paper, crayons, markers, play-doh, and a few cars.
