Not only do they look young- they ARE young- and the ACT young --- i really can't stand the tri boards - it's a bunch of high school girls being mean to each other all day long... at least on the first tri board - girls from the 2nd/3rd tri love to come over and "show us how smart they are"...
No. I agree with pp. They are very annoying because they feel the need to be b!tchy all the time. ?I'm going to turn 34 in one month so it gets pretty old over there.

It is funny how you can spot the young ones by what they say, what their reactions to certain things are. I am bad for checking for ages on profiles when something particularly stupid or juevenile is posted. But I am often right about the ages (<22 !).
promised myself I'd retire when I turned gold, and yet here I am
I totally agree. The tri boards are horrible. They attack these poor girls for asking innocent questions and try to make themselves look better I guess. Immaturity at its best.
I hated the tri boards for that very reason. They loved to trash random posts by people asking innocent questions and then used hormones as their reason for being royal bitches. Granted, the young ones do sometimes post flameworthy questions, but some people were just flamed for being new to the boards. I so would have loved to have had this board to post on when I was pregnant.
Oh I feel 100% more comfortable being a Mom at my age than I would have been in my early 20s. I was ill equipped to take care of mySELF in my early 20s, I couldn't imagine being responsible for another little life then!
... that said...
The 1st tri board, I actually enjoyed a bit. Even though there were mostly first time moms posting there, it was nice for me to be "re introduced" to the whole process through their eyes, and that was fun. The 2nd trimester board? Good LORD it's like jr high. "Cman in here beyotches... " I mean.. you *really* have nothing better to discuss!?
I have to agree with you. It is so nice to have this board to come to and be able to discuss things with other expecting mom's who are going through the same things with pg and motherhood.
I'm glad I'm not alone. They make me laugh sometimes, but I usually only post here. I'm in a much better place now, and don't think I look my age at all, but they're all so fresh faced and starry eyed, and maybe I'm just able to be a bit more realistic as I approach my 40's.
I had a baby at 21 and again at 38. Let me tell you, I had a much easier time at 38. 21 is too young to even begin to comprehend what you are doing. This time, I was so much more relaxed about everything and it went so smoothly. I didn't want to think about another baby after the first one, but with #2, I wanted to get pg again immediately. There is a difference, and no one can convince me otherwise.

That comment made me LOL. Just loved the hormones comment. I get a kick out of it when young girls use the PG issue as a pitty party. Use hormones as an excuse to behave badly, eat way too much (especially when it's the "bad" stuff) etc... A frineds sister is going though these stages and you just have to grin some times. Especially since I am so newly PG with 1st child and am just strating on this journey, who knows maybe I'll go down the same road later in this journey.
I made that comment to someone on the 2nd tri board and got snarked so bad i chose to never go back there again. In fact they were so cruel to me about it that they called me a Pedophile...pretty sick! I thought that was truly un-called for and gross thing to say. Havent posted on that board since because of it!
Yes...they look hell of a young to me! I'm 37.............
Nope, not just you (lurking from 6 -12). Not only did I get torched for making what I thought were fairly innocuous comments, but when I suggested that some people were a little juvenile--torched again! In all fairness, you can't have the perspective of a 30+ year old when you're 20. You won't understand why anyone would call a full grown (in many cases college graduated) adult immature. But there is still a lot of maturing to be done in the 20's and even early 30's. I really wish this board had been here when I was pg. When I go for #2 I'll definitely be all over this board!
I think the majority are just immature and silly. I often wonder if they act like that in daily life or if its just an internet thing. I really hope its just an internet act.
I just don't see the need for constant knocking down. Yes there are some people who I scratch my head and think "why oh why" when then post something.
Re: Wow - is it just me?
I'm just the opposite... I FEEL old =(
::sigh::

That is why I am thankful for this board- I feel like the old hen over on 2nd tri!
