TTC after 35

Luck turning around perhaps? Who's feeling good this cycle?

You know when it's CD1-3 and you're feeling bummed and yucky because not only are you not pregnant, but you're also bloated, crampy, and bleeding like a stuck pig? And then you have a bad day at work or you run out of hot water immediately after you've just applied the conditioner to your hair or your muffler falls off your car?

That's kind of been my last 5 days. Until today.

Without expecting or hoping for it, I got put on call. Which is AWESOME because I am still bleeding like a stuck pig (nothing like working 12 hours on your feet but worried the whole time that you're going to bleed through your pants!) and feeling fuzzy from my allergies (my Flonase always takes a few days to kick in).

Maybe this cycle, everything will fall into place! [knocking on wood]

Who else is feeling they're in a good place right now?

Re: Luck turning around perhaps? Who's feeling good this cycle?

  • Uh, I'm not quite there yet.  I'm still in the spilt your morning down the front of your shirt just before leaving the house so you need to change  and then run out the door in your slippers to catch the bus, which you miss because you need to put shoes on and thus have to take the car in, to run out of window washer fluid, and  come to work and find your well organized day has been thrown aside for a last minute impossible expectation for completion of rush project and suddenly you realize your job is not really a career and slightly less than fulfilling.

Plus I have RE appointment tomorrow with the only clinic in my area available to me with a DR that is not really all that open to assisting us other than to refer us to a out of country clinic for DE.  Which will be out of pocket and thus DH will be super pissed about parking fees today.

Glad you're feeling optimistic though as I shall ride your wave of happiness vicariously and pin my hopes on you this month.  NO pressure.  lol.

  • I'm good.  I think we have as good a chance as we can get from this IUI.  But I think what I'm focusong on more is getting a break.  We leave for vacation soon and it's nice to get away from the needle sticks and dr. appts and focus on something  else.

    Hugs to you BabyVDM!

    Glad you're feeling better Danielle.

  • I'm with you!

I'm at about 5dpo right now and so I'm of course at that hopeful, this is the month! stage where I analyze every little twinge and symptom even though I *know* it's too early.

I'm really hoping this is finally my month. I'm due to test on Sept 6th which is the day we're flying out for our 5-year-anniversary vacation. Of course this means I'll be packing both hpts and tampons - I'm sure the TSA agents will be amused if they open my carryon - but I am keeping my fingers crossed that I won't be needing the latter. After the roller coaster year we've had, I feel like I could use some good news!! Plus, it would be the best anniversary present ever.

  • I know what you mean.  I have been there where everything seems to go wrong at once and it sucks.  It is so hard to remain optimistic cycle after cycle but you have a great attitude.   Every cycle is a new opportunity so I'm hoping this is it for you!

  • Not quite there yet.  Today is officially CD1 so I am in the "stuck pig" stage and hating every minute of it.  :(  But tomorrow is another day..

I am feeling a little time pressure since having my HSG.  Since I did not get pg the same cycle, I only have a couple more months of "increased fertility" (if that is really true) to get this done.  Nothing like a ticking clock to add to my ticking "You're 40!" time bomb.

Good luck to all that are nearing or are in the 2ww!

  • I am feeling a tad better this cycle. Started temping this month.  Met with my obgyn for the first time to discuss fertility. Doc seems to think because CBFM is detecting a peak and I had a CP the 1st month trying, I can get pregnant.  We timed pretty good. Just missed O-1.  If we get another BFN, DH is being tested next. Trying to do what is less costly first before moving on to more expensive testing.  I am trying on purpose to make my life as stress free as possible during the 2WW, BUT you know it never turns out that way. Brother has been missing for the last 3 days and we think he is on a meth binge. Praying he is okay and trying not to worry my brain out. If I knew where he was, I would already be there.  Good note, DH and I start our staycation this Sat.  We have lots of fun stuff scheduled. Hoping it can be relaxing

Good luck to all of you!

Dang, Lady! That is a shi!t-ton of worry to have on your plate! Your brother is in my thoughts-- I talk often about how frustrated I am with moms here in my city who are getting pregnant despite their meth habit, but I know it is a harsh addiction and one bad choice can lead people down a dark path to get lost. I hope your brother resurfaces soon...

GL, everyone! I love hearing where people are in their cycles and what is going through people's heads at each stage!

I never paid attention to it, but I just looked back at my cycles and I got my BFP the 2nd month after my HSG.  I remember feeling that stress for sure. Now, of course, I'm well past my HSG, so we'll see what happens next... Let's hope cycle #2 is the lucky cycle for you, too!

I wish your lucky cycle would have allowed you to stay over in 35PG--although we would have missed you over here.  :(  Maybe we will both get lucky soon.

  • Thank you!  With my Type A personality, I would like to be out looking for him. But, we don't even know where to start. Probably will find out more tonight after work. On top of that, I have co-worker that doesn't feel the need to come to work. And I am not sure why management hasn't let her go. GOOD TIMES!

  • Oddly, I am optimistic this month as well.  I have had some financial and employment issues pop up recently, so maybe this is the silver lining.  Best of luck to you!

  • I'm feeling pretty good! I am pretty sure I just hit the 2WW plus I had my HSG last week so I'm feeling as optimistic as I did my first couple of months of trying (e.g all green and hopeful).

I'm excited and am getting my hopes up which is obviously not good, but can't be helped.  On the bright side, my DH agreed that we could go directly into IUI/Clomid if this isn't our month. My RE said we could try for a few months on our own post HSG and we were debating.  I was green light he was yellow but we now are on the same page to move forward. I'm going to call my RE tomorrow to go through the IUI protocol and get set for that if things don't work out on their own.

Me: 37 DH: 37 TTC since Jan 2012. RE consult and initial testing done in Aug 2012: SA fine, AMH 1.1 & HSG clear - on way to IUI but got BFP on 9/10/2012. m/c 10/3/2012 at 6w5d. BFP next cycle which was a c/p. IUI #1: Clomid 100mg 12/6= BFN. IUI#2 (unmedicated) Jan 2013 = BFN. Hysteroscopy 1/25/13. IUI#3 Clomid 100mg 2/23 = BFN IUI# 4: BFN. IVF #1 April 2013, BFP!  EDD 1/12/14 with Boy!
  • Wow icogburn, I hope your brother is okay and you've found him by now.

As to your coworker, how does management not let them go? I mean even here where it's practically impossible to fire people I don't think not showing up to work would fly.
