A little bit about my situation:
I had a very healthy pregnancy and at 35 weeks I didn't feel my baby girl move for 13 hours. Long story short we ended up going to the hospital to hear a heartbeat and they couldn't find a heartbeat. They induced me and I delivered her 13 hours later. This was almost 9 weeks ago. This was our first baby and we got pregnant within 2 months of TTC. At my 4 week checkup, my doctor released us and said that after one cycle that we can start trying again. All of our tests came back negative and the reason for no heartbeat was my placenta had detached from my uterus, and I had no symptoms of this happening. Two weeks ago I thought I started having cramps and wasn't sure if I was ovulating or about to start so I did an ovulation test and it came out positive that I was ovulating. Five days later I started my period that lasted for 3 days (which is normal for me). We are going to TTC during my next ovulation.
I guess I have a couple of questions....First, is it normal to have a short luteal phase after the first ovulation? Second, is anyone elses story similar to mine? Did your cycles start back normal or did you have problems for a few months?
Re: Intro: TTC after Stillborn
1st of all, I am so sorry for your loss!
2nd, please check out the TTCAL blog (at the top of the board) - it has lots of info that might be helpful.
There is nothing "normal" about cycles post-loss. Some people are like clockwork. Some people don't ovulate. Some people don't have a period. The list goes on. Personally, my loss was early, I bled for a few more days that my typical pre-loss period, ovulated CD18. My cycles since then have been shorter because I started ovulating earlier. ((hugs)) to you and I hope your stay here is short and sweet. I have found this board an unending source of support and knowledge.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I hope you find peace and comfort through this board.
I lost my pregnancy much earlier than you but a good friend of mine lost a pregnancy at about 20 weeks (closer to you) and I know that cycles can be unpredictable for a while after.
You ask if anyone has a similar story. If you are interested in reading the story of someone who shares a similar story I would strongly recommend Elizabeth McCracken's "An Exact Replica of a Figment of my Imagination". Her story of loss is similar to your story and you would perhaps find comfort in it.

I am so very sorry for your loss and that you find yourself here. My heart breaks for what you've been through but hope that you find some comfort and support on this board.
I don't have a similar story since my mc was at 9 wks but my cycles have definitely been wonky since my May miscarriage. Cycle lenghts vary ( before they were like clockwork) and I have been spotting between periods which is a first for me.
Huge (((hugs))) Lees xx

I am so sorry for your loss. Welcome to this board though, it is filled with a lot of very strong, supportive women.
Obviously, my loss was much much much earlier than yours, but I just had my first post d&c cycle, and only had a 5/6 day LP. I am not 100% that I actually O'd... but if I did, the LP was only 5/6 days. You can look at my charts in my siggy. It's totally normal to have a few weird cycles after a m/c.
He's my fairytale, a dream when I'm not sleeping.
<a href="http://s279.photobucket.com/albums/kk121/behapybride/?action=viewI am so sorry for the loss of you sweet little girl. My first child was also stillborn, I lost her at 39 weeks.
It took about 2 months for my fist postpartum period. I don't know about a short LP, but I do know there are so many changes still going on with my body and hormones. Since delivery, my cycles have been pretty normal, although I was surprised with a shorter cycle last month. So I guess things are still getting back to "normal" for me.
I hope things work out for you.
