Crib Wedge - anyone used one before?

Does anyone have experience using a crib wedge to keep baby from laying flat? I have one on my registry currently, but wondering if it'll be worth using. It seems like a good idea for reflux issues that may arise, and also if baby doesn't like to sleep flat on his back, and it's not expensive, so I'm leaning towards purchasing it if I don't get it at my shower.

Thoughts?

    I don't have experience with using one, but I read in one of my newborn care books that these are no longer recommended. You might want to do some research on it or talk to a pediatrician.

    I can't click on your link but I'm assuming it's the one that goes under the mattress ... Since the ones that go under or around the baby have been pulled off shelves. DS had severe reflux and ear infections (2sets of tubes already). The ENT recommended elevating one end of his mattress but we just used a couple bath towels to do it.

    Everything I have heard/read says that anything in the crib other than a fitted sheet and a light blanket raises the risk for SIDS. I agree with PP, talk to a pediatrician and see what they think.

    DD actually liked having her feet near the end of the crib so the crib wedge was way up at the other end of the bed for her. DD had GERD (bad acid reflux) so it was reccomended that I use one. I actually used a pillow under the crib mattress to put the entire matress on an incline so that no matter where in the crib I put DD she was inclined.
