Omg, my skin has been breaking out terrible. I've never been one to have skin issues, even when I was young I never really broke out. My skin has been out of control and only seems to be getting worse. Any suggestions??
I don't have them on my face really, but everywhere else! Bar soap seems to work the best for me (even on my face) or a dab of clear calamine lotion!
pp - I thought I read with the first pregnancy that tea tree oil is not safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding... I know that I discontinued it's use when I was pregnant with Nate.
I've had acne issues since my early teens (now I know it was probably due to my PCOS). It had gotten better after 2 rounds of Accutane and then going on birth control pills. The pregnancy hormones and the fact that I can't really put anything on my skin to clear it up, have made me feel like a teenager again. It's awful. I feel like I just look gross most of the time.

I personally use it twice a day. I put one drop in my purpose liquid soap before I wash my face. At nearly 18 weeks my skin is finally starting to sort of clear up.
Hmm... I hadn't heard about the tea tree oil thing and I just looked it up on google. Interesting. I'll have to ask my midwives about it but I don't blame you for avoiding it.
As for proactive, they do sell a body wash?
I've just been waiting it out as my bumps seem to devolop deep below the skin surface...
I was the exact same way, never broke out. But now I get breakouts like crazy, the oily/ dry sandpaper skin doesn't help either, sooner or later they'll subside. Just keep waiting for that glow!
A dab of tea tree oil on the boil is effective (and a natural way) to get rid of it in a day or two.
Or try proactive. It works but it dries my skin out so I'd suggest a good moisturizer.
Actually proactive did the same thing for me and i nearly gave it up and stopped using it due to the dryness. But i found out they sell a gental solution set (face wash, toner, lotion) and my face has never looked better. The standard strength was actually still too harsh for my skin and is for many people. Its frustrating because most dont know that proactive does a gentle strength for those types as well. (i was one of them!) It is seriously amazing and ive been using it for the last 2 years including during pregnancy and my skin is great.
ps. always be 100% diligent with all three steps, twice a day. You'll never look back!
I understand completely. Around 5 or 6 weeks my whole face exploded. It was honestly really bad. My skin is very hormone sensitive, and even switching birth control in the past caused 3 months of breakouts for me. It has gotten better in the past 2 weeks, but I still have a lot of problems with it. I have been using Belli face wash, and I think that it might help a little. Hoping it will continue to calm down as I progress further in to my pregnancy.
Re: skin problems anyone?
