how much does your newborn sleep?

My six day old is basically awake when I feed her and other than that she spends all the other time sleeping. I'd estimate she is only awake 2-3 hours out of 24. Normal? Thanks!

    I think that is normal.  At 6 days old my DD was still sleeping most the time too.

    Mine is 7 days old and about the same. She sleep ALL day and then decides she wants to have some awake time at 2am.

    Normal. Just make sure she's making enough wet/dirty diapers. Sometimes babies can sleep too much if they aren't getting enough to eat. I wouldn't go longer than 2.5-3 hours between feedings.

    Completely normal, DD sleeps almost 23 hours a day if we're not going anywhere!

    Normal, sleeps for 90m - 2hr though he stunk in 2 3 hr sessions in the last 24 hrs.

    Yes!!! Your baby is only a few days old. All they do is wake to eat and go back to sleep. Even at 10 wks my LO is only awake one hour at a time.
