It seems the hospital here does not provide a birthing ball but we can get ours. I am trying to figure out the best way to carry it. Maybe some kind of net. If nothing else then maybe a big plastic bag.
I'm sorry but I just laughed so hard when reading this post. I guess because I think it's a silly question and also because I'm picturing someone with a huge belly trying to carry the ball.
But seriously, I would maake someone else carry it for you.
I'd say just have it in the car and have YH go get it when you are ready to use it. He can make a trip back to the car while you are getting settled in or something. Kind of odd that your hospital doesn't have one for you, since they are not expensive and they're a huge pain to lug in and out of the hospital. MH is planning for multiple trips to the car.

Bring the pump that came with it and inflate the thing in the delivery room. That's what I did. Then I "donated" it to the hospital because I didn't want to have to worry about deflating it, bringing it home, and cleaning it off after it had been rolling around on a hospital floor.
DH carried it in for both births (one hospital, one birth center). If you are serious about using it and plan to stay home as long as possible, I would not bring in deflated. Once things are really going, I wanted DH's attention on me not other details. Also, when I wanted the ball, I wanted it THEN. The time and effort to blow it up would've been SO unappealing in the moment, yet a ball is so great during labor!
I got one that needs to be inflated...so if I were going to the hospital I would leave it deflated until I got there, then have hubby or nurse blow it up.

Carry it in deflated. Bring a pump. Put your SO to work inflating the ball. When you're ready to go home, reverse the procedure.

Good point. Though if she's step-B positive and her water breaks early, she will have to labour at the hospital.
