I was curious how many of us are planning on doing these? Or have already done them. We are thinking about doing it this weekend. It's a $99 scan but with 25% off. I think that's reasonable. It's a 20 minute scan with a take home dvd of the session as well as some printed photos. The place we'd go says that the best time for this is between 26 and 30 weeks. At first I was against it, thinking it was too expensive and kind of weird. But now for some reason I think I want one. Maybe because our last scan with our dr will be at 36 weeks and obviously not 3D.

Re: Are you doing a 3D/4D ultrasound?

I just did an elective 3D u/s on Tuesday and it was totally worth it! There was a deal around here for $109 which included a picture CD and a bunch of print-outs. It lasted about 20-30 minutes and the tech was awesome.
My mom came with me because she has never seen an ultrasound before and DH couldn't go. My mom was in awe. It was so cool to watch the baby move and make faces (she is very expressive!) live on the screen. My mom and I couldn't stop laughing/smiling/crying
) I was 28w4d and the images were wonderful. I was a little creeped out when I first thought about doing the 3D but it was totally worth it! And the price of yours is fantastic...if it's in your budget, I say do it
)
I'm doing one in a week and a half. I'm excited. I wasn't sure if I wanted one a first, but this might be the only pregnancy we get to experience, so I want to do it all.
I also thought it was a great way for SS (11) to feel included. We are going to an outside facility, not the dr's office. I didn't want to bring him to the ob office. He's really looking forward to it. I can't wait to see his face when he see's his sister!

Yep! We had a 2 visit package for $179 this time around and are so glad we did. We went at about 25 weeks and about 29 weeks and got great photos and video both times. The 29 week one was amazing because baby was in perfect position so we got to see a couple smiles, a couple yawns and even a couple sad faces. Priceless!
It was also great for DD. She would walk up to the screen and say Hi baby! Hi baby! Was completely adorable.
Can't wait to meet little one
I went and had the 3d/4d ultrasound at the request my boyfriend. I really didn't want to fork out the extra money but after he explained that he did not really understand what he was looking at/seeing in the 2d ultrasound and wanted to have that feeling I got (because I know what I was seeing in the 2d). So we agreed to spilt the cost and go. His parents came for the appointment too. (I wish my family could have came but unfortunately all my family is in a different state) Anyways, It was a great experience. At first LO was facing my spine so we couldn't get a good view but the tech was really good about being patient for her to move around. It was soo sweet because LO finally turned toward us once my boyfriend came over to touch my belly and talk to her. Seeing her face was surreal and I smiled so hard... Then it even made it more worth while when I caught my boyfriend wiping a tear away. We were only supposed to get 6 or 7 pictures but they gave us close to 20. Great experience!
