Recommend your bra!

I need to get a larger size and I wanted so see if people were moving up in size in regular bras or wearing maternity/nursing bras. Since I plan to nurse and imagine I will be in this larger size for a few months I thought maybe I should just spend the money now on nursing bras, but I don't know how well they work as regular bras. I am a 36D before pregnancy and now about a DD so I want to make sure I get enough support.

Re: Recommend your bra!

  • I bought a few nursing bras at Motherhood a few months ago, because I went from a 34 B to a 36 D, and those old bras weren't really cutting it anymore. I bought two that were really soft and cottony. They are really comfortable and I think they give me pretty good support, plus they're pretty adjustable, so if I get even bigger (I'm told I probably will), I'll still be able to wear them.

  • I'm still wearing my regular bras, even though my boobs have filled the cups out a little bit.  I wear Gap Body t-shirt bras.  Oooohhhhh, how I absolutely love them :-)

I have bought a couple of nursing tanks from Gap though.  I bought them in a medium.  Pre-pregnancy I'm a 34B.  I tried on the nursing tanks and my boobs were swimming!  There is plenty of room to grow!!

I went ahead and got nursing bras because I didn't want to keep buying a bunch of new bras and I plan on nursing. My boobs also grew to like epic proportion and I know that when the milk comes in they will temporarily swell so I made sure to pick one out that would accommodate a little more growth. I ended up getting the bravado body silk seamless bra. It's pricey and doesn't look all that appealing but I highly recommend it for comfort! diapers.com has them for $5 cheaper, and they currently have a 20% off promotion.

MAJOR YES to Bravado. They've gotten me through two entire years of breastfeeding. And when my husband was shocked at the price when I ordered a zillion of them, I just kindly reminded him that it was WAY WAY WAY cheaper than formula and he shut his mouth :)

Good Point!!!!!!  I'm planning on buying these as well because I have seen nothing but good reviews on this brand.

  • I've gone from a 34B to a 34C and just got a couple Target bras because I wasn't sure the girls would stay this size. I also picked up a few nursing/sleeping bras from the clearance rack that just happened to be the right size.. but I haven't tried them yet.

  • I was a 38C pre-pregnancy, and can still wear my old bras although it's uncomfortable. I'm more like a 38D or 38DD now. I recently bought the Bravados seamless stretchy bra (in a size L) and LOVE it. I wear it at night time, although it's actually supportive enough to wear during the day too. I would buy more but they are pricey and with my luck won't fit when I actually need to wear a nursing bra.

  • My boobs haven't grown enough to justify buying any new bras. I admit, I'm disappointed in that... I just use the same Victoria's Secret cotton bras I had been wearing all along. Still nice and comfortable.
