Boy Name Help w/Poll

We are still nowhere near a first name for DS2. We like traditional names, but do not want to use the name of a friend or relative, so that has really cut down the options.

Middle name favs are Van and Vance. Any of these 4 could be MN too, but I like a one syllable MN if possible. DS1 is Henry Vaughn and we have a 3 syllable german last name starting with H.

I voted for Arthur. It has always seemed very intellectual (in a good way) to me.

I think Daniel is fine, boring and overused. Cyrus makes me think of Miley Cyrus. And I kind of like Grayson, but I think it's a little trendy and if you're going for classic it might not be a good choice.

In order: Arthur, Cyrus, Daniel, Grayson.

Grayson is too trendy if you want classic/timeless. Daniel doesn't work with your mn choices (Dan Van!). Between Arthur and Cyrus, I like Arthur.

I like Arthur Vance. My unsolicited opinion on the mn is that Vance is much better. When I see Van, I think of it as part of a last name, like Van Dries or something. So if I saw Arthur Van Lastname, I'd assume the last name was Van Lastname and not just Lastname.

This is a good point. My FI's middle name is Van and he does occasionally get "Ross VanLastName" instead of "Ross LastName". Doesn't happen that often but it happens.

Van and Vance are not "have to's" for the MN, but that is a good point.

I'm obviously biased and voted Cyrus but I love Arthur Vance a lot too!! I'd totally put that on my list but DH has me limited to Persian/American names with easy Farsi translations only.
