Flying w/baby

This may be a really dumb question, but the last time we flew with DD#1 she was 1, and I wasn't to concerned about how to dress her (it was fall). But with C I'm wondering do I dress her in summer attire (usually onesie and pants) or do I dress her in a sleeper just in case she gets cold on the plane? We are headed out West, so the temps are pretty much the same as Baltimore-HOT.

Thoughts?

Re: Flying w/baby

  • I would dress her in a onsie and pants, but bring a light weight sweatshirt and/or a blanket. Leave the sweatshirt off while you are going through security.

  • I would do a onesie and pants and bring a sweater and blanket.  I know planes can get cold (I'm always freezing on a flight), but if she gets hot on the ground you can always take off the sweater and the pants if she gets really hot.

  • Thanks ladies! DH thanks I'm over thinking the clothes thing. He's worried about how we are going to carry or roll our bags w/two kids. I knew there was a reason to buy a double stroller. Wink

  • We are flying on Friday and I intend to dress DS in a short sleeve shirt and wind pants - but have a pair of shorts and sweatshirt in the carry on in case he gets hot/cold and for when we land, we can change him into shorts.

  • We flew last week (also out West) and the planes were hot when we got on, but then cooled off.  I dressed her in her normal clothes (short sleeves - cotton dress or shorts/T) and brought her blanket.  I held her, and on the way out, we were both crazy hot/sweaty.  The way home we used her A+A blankie.

I do remember last time I flew with DS, I got so hot because he was in our laps... so that is something else to consider!
