Not sure what's going on, but bedtime's not going down like usual round these parts. Little guy is sobbing like there's no tomorrow. I've gone in a few times to try to comfort & make sure he still has his blankie, and he calms down, but as soon as I get out of the room - tears & sobbing erupts.
Poor little guy. I hate hearing him so sad, but I'm not sure what I can do.

Re: sobbing boy
awww, poor baby! I know around these parts, we'd definitely go in! We're such softies!
But seriously, if this behavior is abnormal, then maybe he's coming down with something, or going through a form of separation anxiety?
When DS was going through a sleep regression like 2 months ago where he'd wake up like 2 hrs after we put him down, we brought him to the living room to cuddle & watch one 15 minute episode of Thomas. Then he was ok going back to sleep. I know it's not a good habit, but we made an exception & it got us through the rough patch!
Hey! You're not alone. Us too. Mine wasn't sobbing though, more like manic screaming for an hour. I finally had to hold him down and rock him to sleep. N has a cold or something going on though, so I know a breathing treatment coupled with nose sucking just did him in tonight.
Thanks for the commisseration. He's finally asleep! I went in and laid next to him for a while, sang him some lullabies, and then left again. Sob, sob, sob. So I just had to come downstairs and do something else. He must have tired himself out.
I hope he's not coming down with something, but he's been really clingy the past two days or so, so I wouldn't rule it - or separation anxiety - out.
It made me have flashbacks to the first year, though, when this was more the norm. I'm so impressed at those of you brave enough to do tough bedtimes x 2 with new little babes!
Also - we really, really need to put some wd40 on the nursery door - creak, creak, groan.
