Quick ? for you out there...
If you started dilating early, a) what did your doctor recommend and b) how much longer did you bake your LOs?
I'm at 33 weeks and have been having consistent BH, like every 15 minutes. Last time we checked my cervix was closed but today it was between 1-2 cm dilated and soft. The dr. said she could feel baby A (that part freaked me out).
Basically she told me to spend more time "down than up" and keep drinking lots of fluids. I see her every Tuesday and c/s scheduled for 38 weeks on Oct. 1.
Re: Once you started dilating...?
I started dilating around 34 weeks. I kept dilating and effacing but my water never would break. I finally begged to be induced when I had been stalled at 4.5-5 and 100% effaced 2 appointments in a row.
I had contractions (BH and real ones) on and off from 27 weeks on. Baby A was so low my OB and MFM could both feel his head for a long time, although I don't know exactly when they first told me that. I do know when I went in to be induced he was a 0 station and I was 4.5-5cm and 100% effaced. My water was broken on baby A and he was born just a little over 2 hours later. As soon as he was out my cervix was like "OK, all done!" and started closing back up. They had to break my daughter's water and push Pitocin to keep me dilated so I didn't end up in a pickle.
So...I rambled. Sorry!! Anyway, good luck. I would definitely stay down more than up if I were you.
I was 4cm at 25wks.I was on hospital bedrest and sent home @ 35wks @ 7cm. I went back in to the hospital later that pm for 'cramping' and was 9cm and ended up delivering.
If they tell you to rest you need to!! I was only allowed to take a step out of the hospital bed to the bedside commode until I was 33 weeks and then I was finally allowed to get up and walk to the bathroom. At about 34weeks they finally let me walk outside of my room and take wheel chair rides.
