Are you a mom of twins?

Hi Bumpies,

For those of you who don't know me, I'm Nest Dani, the community coordinator over on The Nest, but I'm posting for Bump Kathleen today.

We're looking to roundup some adorable pictures of twins for a slideshow on The Bump. The article is called "Twins Who Can't Tell Themselves Apart." So the pics can be anything fitting of that title, like your little multiples dressed alike or looking at eachother like a mirror image.

If you would like to contribute to the slideshow, please email your photo as a JPEG attachment to community@thebump.com with the subject "Bump Twins."

Thanks!

  • As MoM's I think it's pretty important that we strive to make our kiddos individuals-Kids who can't tell themselves apart?  That's just strange.

  • Yes, this is actually kinda offensive and weird.  I think you guys need to rethink this little project.

     100% agree.

  • I completely agree with the other comments!!!!  Not all twins are identical!  No mirror image here!!  I have 5 month old boy/girl twins...I dress her like a little girl and him like a little boy.  Why would I want to dress them alike??

    Totally agree.

  • I'm a dad and have boy/girl twins. Pretty tough to make them look alike. Agree with the moms here.image
  • I wonder what exactly the article will be about.  Kids Who Can't Tell Themselves Apart sounds like such a bad thing - I would expect an article about twins who refuse to ever do anything apart from each other and/or have an identity crisis relating to twins.  Not exactly something I'd want to submit a picture for.  Maybe it's just going to be an article on identical twins but if so that's an awful choice for a title.

  • I have to agree with everyone else. My twins are identical, but that doesn't mean they are a package deal. They are two individuals with different personalities, different needs, etc.

Please rethink this idea. Or at the very least, share some of the reasoning behind it with the rest of us. Thanks!

  • I agree with the other MoMs. My girls are still in the womb and already have 2 completely different personalities.

  • I agree with you all. My babies are still in my belly and are nothing alike. Please rethink this or explain the reasoning behind it.

  • Hey Bumpies,

I just wanted to jump back in here and apologize if our original post seemed offensive. Of course we know that twins (and other multiples) are individuals! We were just trying to roundup some cute pictures for our slideshow.

  • I assumed it was more tongue in cheek/just trying to be cute, not a serious article on kids who literally can't tell themselves apart. I was a lot more worried about people seeing my twins as individuals when I was pregnant/during infancy but as they've gotten older (and especially with them being frats with totally different looks and personalities) it's been a non-issue.

I think Dani just wanted pics of identical twins in cute outfits.  Dani, MoM's might feel more comfy attaching their children to the article if they had the article first. NO good parent wants to later find out AFTER the article has been published that their child has been attached to something they don't agree with.

  • I think the major ones i see with problems do NOT have ID twins!!!!!!!! I for one, do.......... and I dress the alike.......... and when they play peek a boo its different...... and when they get hair cuts. its different. they respond looking at eachother like they do looking at their selves... if your a mom of ID TWINS then you get this........ its a normal thing.. I submitted....... and that was before anything as seen or written....... I love that my boys are Id...... its an extra special thing........ i cant believe so many M.O.M.s think its a problem...... saying they cant tell their selves apart.... wow. yeah they can when they are older........ but wow peeps!
  • and just on another note.. mine do have different personalities on different days. other wise. thats pretty much ID too........ they flip flop.......  so its not just a trying to help them feel different thing to me i want them to graps and enjoy what a privilege and rarity ID twins is....... born brothers  but best friends for life...... they are womb mates!! ....... I appreciate the Bump doing an artical and wanting to do a slide show!.
