What's LO going to be for Halloween?

I was in Carter's to get a b-day gift for a cousin's LO's b-day on Thursday and I came across the Halloween costume's. DD was a kitty last year (from Carter's), so I decided the costumes were too similar to the one last year, so I didn't get anything, but the kid did get a whole new wardrobe thanks to their 50% off sale. 
Anyway, I have no clue what to dress her up as and need some ideas. I saw an adorable owl costume in "One Step Aheads" magazine, but think it's too boyish. 
So, what's your LO going to be this year?

I think we are going to dress up as a family this year (we did last year too).
It's football season and DH and A both have jersey's for the Cowboys so they'll be football players. I'm assuming I'll still be trying to lose some baby weight so I'm going to be the referree. and #2, since we are team green and I won't feel like shopping too much after she or he is born, is going to be a football. :-)
I believe that this will be his (and mine) first halloween! We have been invited to a zoo (due to our seasontickets) for a halloweenparty on friday nov. 2. (I know its not the day of - but I believe the date is not important at age 1).
I am thinking three things - either go as an animal (like lion, tiger or bear), dress him up in something I just see cheap somewhere or to be original and dress him up as an animal snack
I will drop in here once in a while to see what ideas you get

DH had the inspiration that we should dress the whole family up in steampunk style. That would be really cool, but I'm afraid it's going to be $$$.
Charlie is going to be a minion from Despicable Me. Its just a yellow shirt and overalls and I'm going to make him this kind of hat.
I'm trying to get DH to dress up like Vector, but he said no. Whomp whomp. lol

Given how obsessed Avery is with Elmo, I think we have no choice but to get her an Elmo costume as well. Cute idea to have your furbaby as the cookie monster.
I want DS to be Fireman Sam & DD to be Radar (the Dalmatian), from the Fireman Sam cartoon b/c DS is completely obsessed with the show. But, I can't find costumes in their sizes!
I am considering making them, but I know realistically that will probably not happen, lol, so I need to come up with a plan b!
O has a tux that he wore to my moms wedding in June so he is going to go as a magician. I need to find some white gloves and make him a cape but other than that he is all set. I'm going to dress G as a bunny and put a top hat in her lap while we are trick or treating. I can't wait, it is going to be cuteness overlaod.

wow, you guys are on top of it. I have no idea. Last year, he was Elmo.. and I hated that big, heavy costume. I'd like to do something lighter this year, but I really don't know what.
