I asked at my 32 week appointment because I suspected this little guy was head down. She felt around my abdomen, and went "there's the head!". Nice and simple and great to have the confirmation that he's already prepping for birth
My Dr. checked by using his hands on the outside of my belly 2 weeks ago and he said he was positive LO was head down. At yesterday's appt. he used a small hand held ultrasound machine and LO was indeed head down. I know LO hasn't moved his position cause I have been feeling him move in the same spots for weeks now.
I had an ultrasound today and he was head down. My doctor wants to do one more ultrasound at 37 weeks to check again. But my little guy has been head down for a long time now....apparently he's content like that which is good!
i had us with mfm - head down i felt him move that way. at 32 wks when i went to l&d and he moved and was butt dpwn - tech saw on cervix us. /i feel like he has moved head down i have us appt tomorrow with mfm.
My OB doctor checked at my 28wk appt by just feeling my stomach and my MFM doc confirmed it by u/s the same day. I was told they move around a bit and can go back and forth before its go time. I have my 32wk appt with the OB and MFM doctors On Friday so I am curious to find out because she has been moving like crazy.

I can tell baby has been head down for a little while now, but I believe my on checked last week and just didn't say anything because he was palpitating my stomach and doesn't usually do that. I'll ask him at my next appt just to be sure though.
We have had u/s every 4 weeks and at our last appt (at 32 weeks), they confirmed he was head down. However, at today's appt, (from feeling around on my stomach) OB think that he has flipped. We have another u/s in 2 weeks where we will confirm if he is breech or not and go from there.
I actually think he flipped late last night. He was much more active than normal and it kinda hurt a little bit. Then when I got up this morning, he didn't feel the same in my stomach as he normally does but I just shrugged it off until the OB mentioned what she felt.
28 weeks I had an u/s and they said he was head up. When I went in at 30 weeks I asked and my mw said she isn't good at telling the difference this early and they don't worry until 36 weeks. I had an appt today and a different mw didn't even check. I have an u/s in 2 weeks, so I will know then. DD was head down by 34 weeks, so I hope this one will follow suit.
My midwife checks every time, but that's probably because she knows I really want to know. I'm really curious about how my baby is situated, not for birthing reasons, but just because I want to know what each lump is that I'm feeling.

I had a 35 week appointment yesterday and they did my GBS test and she checked my cervix. She was she could "feel" his head. He was right there and I am already dialted. I guess this was my "this just got real" moment. And he is head down.
My doctor 'checked' two weeks ago by feeling my abdomen. She said at my next appointment in 2 weeks (36 weeks along) she'll do a cervix exam and somehow confirm baby is indeed head down while doing that. I will not have an u/s to confirm unless she suspects baby is butt down.

Re: When did your doc check if baby was head down???
This may sound silly, but how did the doc check? Ultrasound?
