Question regarding ergo baby carrier

Good morning-I have lurked on the bump in the past and have always gotten great info for any questions I have had!!! Do you think it would be worth the price to buy an ergo with an almost 8 month old? I currently use a Bjorn and it just causes me so much back pain but the baby loves it!

This is my first baby! I had a girl on 1/10/12 and am figuring things out as I go! Thanks for any feedback:)

Re: Question regarding ergo baby carrier

  • Our babies have the same bay! We love the ergo, totally worth the money.  It doesn't bother my back at all and dh loves it too. Plus back carries are great as they get older, dd already likes them!
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!

  • Perfect! I just didn't want to buy it and then realize she is too old or getting to be too old for it! She kinda hates being in her stroller:(

  • LOVE my Ergo and so does DS!!! I have minor back problems and the Ergo actually seems to help :) I dress DS in light clothing when I know we will be using it as it can get a little warm inside!

  • Ergo is waaay comfy and totally worth it. Ive seen Moms in the city wear it backpack style with toddlers so youll definitely get some good mileage out of it (if you want).
  • I was wondering about the same thing as you did, if it was worth it with my LO being (at that time) over 3 months old. The answer is YES!!! the Ergo is absolutely awesome, super easy on your back and you can use it for quite some time. I think the weight limit is about 45lbs and like PP said, when the LOs get bigger the back carry is really great. My DD loves the Ergo as well. I"d say go for it!! :)

  • My bff still uses her ergo with her three year old.  So I'd definitely say you'll still get plenty of use out of it.

  • How on earth do you ladies clip the back?!?!  I got mine a month ago and luckily my DH has been with me whenever I use it and he clips the back.  I'm afraid if I do it by myself my DD will fall out.

    Advise?

  • I found a pretty good deal on Amazon. Are you planning to have more kids? I guess it depends on how much you wear here. I have a friend with a 2yo and she still wears her in a ring sling a lot. It's nice that you can use the ergo on your side or back as well.
