Metformin ladies

When do you take it? If I remember correctly its a 1/2 hour before you eat or was it when you eat? My doctor just put twice a day, not very helpful!

    I only take it once a day and I take it with dinner. Sometimes if I forget to take it with dinner I take it before bed with a protein. I have only had problems if I take it on an empty stomach (before eating or several hours after).

    Dx: PCOS and short luteal phase
    18 cycles (3 with our RE) - Metformin + Clomid + HCG booster did the trick!
    BFP #1 6/22/09 EDD: 3/2/10 DS born: 3/8/10

    TTC #2 since Dec 2011
    BFP #2 7/8/12 EDD: 3/18/12 M/C @ 9w1d: 8/16/12

    I remember in past if I ate poorly and took it that I got SO sick.

    I take it twice a day (one with breakfast the other with dinner). I take them in the middle of my meal but honestly my doctor said you don't have to worry about taking them at certain times around food. They just recommend that in case you have a sensitive stomach to stave off the side effects. I've taken mine on an empty stomach before and have been fine (I'm on XR).

    I take it once a day with breakfast and if I forget I will take it with lunch. I have been taking it since March and am just now experiencing the side effects.

    I am on Metformin ER so I take it right after I eat dinner.
