So before I got pregnant I went to Starbucks pretty regularly. My favorite drinks are chai, caramel machiatto and the caramel frap. Now I don't know what to get? Ideally I'd like something low in sugar and with not a ton of caffeine. I don't drink regular coffee.
So what do you all order?
Re: What do you order at Starbucks?
I don't really like Starbucks, there coffee is too...something. Maybe bitter? I like a local coffee shop here, they use good syrups. I used to get peppermint lattes, but dh turned me on to mochas, so now I get peppermint mochas. Decaf of course. It is a lot of sugar I'm sure, but I don't have them very often. Actually, haven't had one in months come to think of it! I haven't gotten very adventurous and tried anything else really. I get my kids a strawberry smoothie sometimes, which is yummy.
You can pretty much order anything decaf from Starbucks- and request it to be "skinny" so it has low fat milk and less sugar. They also have the refreshers that have a little bit of caffeine, but they are awesome! Depending on the season I used to order: -skinny vanilla latte; - shaken green tea; -misc. skinny frappachino (caramel, vanilla, mocha, etc.)
Now I just order the decaf version, I stay away from the green tea as I've read it can lead to neural tube defects, or the refreshers.
The pumpkin spice latte will soon return.
Lattes, which actually have a lot less caffeine than regular drip coffee there.

It's a girl!
I used to go all the time and my favorite things (depending on the weather) were their white hot chocolate and their vanilla frap. They had a blueberry frap for a few months that I loved, and the strawberry frap is great. DH loves their Double Chocolate Chip frap (chocolate frap with chocolate chips mixed in basically) and rarely gets anything else from them.
Almost anything you order from them can be made low sugar on request, and if it has coffee in it just ask for decaff (not totally caffine free, but a lot less caffine).
GL& Enjoy!
I still get the same drinks. A grande Chai tea or today I got a mocha coconut frappacino. I have a 9 month old. I require caffeine to function. But, you can get any drink made with decaf and you can get almost any coffee frappacino made as a cream frappacino.
ETA: Starbucks is a rare treat for me. So... it only happens once every few weeks when I go to Target without DH.
I still have order the same things--nonfat white mochas, carmel macchiatos, lattes, frappacinos. I usually order the tall size, and never end up finishing the entire thing. My doctor said it was fine to have some caffeine, I just do so in moderation and don't make it an everyday occurrance.
Decaf vanilla latte, non-fat with one ice cube
When I have the bottles, I drink a third.

I cut way back on caffeine when we were TTC, so the withdrawal wasn't terrible.
I've been to Starbucks a few times since getting pregnant - I did a chai tea latte, and a half caf latte with skim milk, and a lot of the teas are a little lower in caffeine, or even decaf. I just order a tall.

I love their passion iced tea. I don't like the lemonade and I don't like it sweetened. It's cheap too.
If I want coffee, usually a pumpkin spice latte or a tall caramel frapp. Mmm

I just got a vanilla creme the other day - basically a vanilla milkshake! It's a frappuchino with no espresso...very rich.
This was a great question to ask - I just got a postcard in the mail today for my free Birthday drink - now I have some ideas of what to get!

I don't mind coffee occasionally but I usually get frapps as well. Yum!
However, coffee and I did NOT get along at about 4 weeks along so I haven't had it since. The closest Starbucks is a three hour drive from where we live so I don't get a chance to visit them often. I received a Starbucks gift card earlier this summer so I'm very much looking forward to using it every time we hit up an SB over the next year.
As mentioned above, I usually get frapps...but I DO love myself some seasonal treats hot treats (hello pumpkin spice and peppermint)!!! I'll just order them in decaf.

I still get my nonfat chai, just less frequently and in a smaller cup. My OB is super-awesome and chill: she says that most things are fine (rare meats, raw fish, and alcohol excepted) in small doses, and with caffeine in particular, she says keep it to the equivalent of 2 8oz coffees a day, or less. That allows me to have my chai one or two days a week, and a few bites of chocolate most days.
I try to be cautious, but I also want to relax enough to have as low-stress of a pregnancy as possible. That's me, though, and I know others would find it stressful to have any caffeine at all, so to each her own!
I work for Starbucks and used to drink a soy chai on an all to regular basis. And I'm definitely a fan of the caramel macchiato. As others have suggested, if you are worried about your caffeine in take you can ask for any espresso based drink in decaf or half caf. And several drinks have the skinny option, or light when regarding frappuccinos. Have you tried a sugar free caramel cream frappuccino? Or a skinny caramel macchiato? The Starbucks app is another great tool to use. You can create any drink you'd like and it will give you nutritional info like the carbs, total fat, sugars, etc. when In doubt or want to try something new just ask your barista. We love giving new drink suggestions or even creating something new and not on the menu
Ps. Here are our sugar free syrups: sfvanilla, sfcaramal, sfcinnamon dolce, sf hazelnut, and sf mocha. Some stores may still have sf peppermint but be aware that if they do it might be from orders from last winter!
