Plugged duct, 22w with twins

So this is weird. I have what appears to be a plugged duct. I've nursed three and have had several over the years, but never DURING a pregnancy months after weaning. It's red and tender, on the ride of my right breast. I called my OB's nurse today, and explained what I'm seeing and that I was using compresses, and she called in an antibiotic immediately, without seeing me, once I said that I was a little concerned about the onset of mastitis if I didn't have a nursing baby to draw it down. 

Does it seem like she REALLY jumped to antibiotics fast without even seeing me? Is there any other reason I should be concerned?

    Heat and massage while nursing, heat and massage, and repeat.  Maybe it's just good to have the meds in case it doesn't go away.  I don't think they could hurt.

    Oh wait, you've already weaned?  Yeah, I'd probably take the antibiotic because of what you said; that there is no nursing baby to suck it away.

    Could you give it a day or two and see if it goes away with heat and massage?  I had one when I was still pumping and massage while underneath a hot shower is what worked for me.  If it doesn't go away in a day or two then you can take the antibiotics.  It's kind of nice that she just gave you a prescription and didn't make you come in.
