TTC after 35

Books that deal with infertility...

I'm about to order some Wondfos on Amazon and was looking at books about infertility...most of them look pretty cheesy.  Have any of you read any infertility books that actually gave good advice regarding health/stress management?  Have you read any books that gave you some sort of peace of mind?   I've read 'Taking Charge of Your Fertility' but that's not really what I'm looking for.  I have enough information about TTC.  Stress at work and home makes this struggle so much more difficult and I'm looking for a way to...I guess accept the way things are (even though I will continue with treatments), improve the way I live and de-stress (so I don't lose my mind).

Re: Books that deal with infertility...

  • I recently purchased Making Babies and the Infertility Cure. Both of them are mostly about diet, herbs, and Chinese medicine but they also both have sections about stress reduction techniques like guided meditation/visualization, acupressure and other techniques. This is only part of each of these books though so I am not sure if it's worth purchasing for this. I would just look up these things online. I think you can purchase fertility yoga DVD's that can help. Good luck!

  • This doesn't really answer your question - I've searched for those kinds of books too and have come up empty. But for me what really helps destress is to take a yoga class with a good teacher. I've done yoga at home but really it's only when I go to a class regularly that it really helps (that's just me though, I get too easily distracted at home but if I'm in a class I know I have to turn my cell phone off and just listen to the teacher for the next hour or 90 minutes).

If you can't spare that much time or money the next best thing for me is either going for a jog or going for a brisk walk - sometimes with really upbeat, pumping, cheesy music (for example: Eye of the Tiger), sometimes I like to do it in silence.
