I registered for an Original Arms Reach Co-Sleeper, but no one bought it for me. I'm thinking maybe I can do without it rather than purchasing it ourselves. We have one RNP, one bouncer and two swings... I'm thinking maybe I'll get another RNP and that should be enough as far as alternate sleeping places for the babies, no?
If we had the co-sleeper or PNP I would think we'd use it in the living room b/c the co-sleeper won't actually fit next to our bed so we would just use it as a bassinet. The nursery is right across the hall from our room, so I'm not sure I'll even have them room-in with us anyway... as long as I'm up I might as well take 3 extra steps and be in their room where all their stuff is anyway, you know?
So, am I going to really want a PNP/co-sleeper for downstairs, or will the RNPs/swings, bouncer be enough for now?
(I realize I'll want one later for when we travel, but I'm not really worried about that now.)

We started out with a crib in our bedroom. We got mini cribs so it worked out fine. They are actually now both in our bedroom because I can't just bite the bullet and put them in their nursery (I promised DH I'd do it by 6 months).
Anyway, we don't own a PNP or a co-sleeper and at this point I'm glad we didn't waste our money. We may get a PNP when they get bigger but having one for this stage was completely unnecessary. They've never slept anywhere except my bed (the first couple weeks they were home they slept with me (alone) in my queen bed) and then went to their cribs exclusively.
We had 2 swings, 2 bouncy seats and didn't get PnPs until they were 5 months old and we were going on a vacation. We had them in their own rooms from day 1, because their room was literally next to ours. It wasn't that big of a deal to go to them.
Mine napped in bouncy seats for a few weeks but they became too alert to be in the living room during naptime so by 6 weeks old, all naps were in cribs and if they woke up mid-nap, they would go in swings, which were also in the living room, but they were able to sleep better in there than in the bouncy seats. Night sleep was always in cribs.
