Night Time Soaking Wet Diapers.....

So I read a lot of the posts a few months ago about babies peeing through their diapers at night, and we've tried a lot of the suggestions.  So far we have tried a size up in the diaper that he wears from during the day (size 4 during day and size 5 at night).  We've tried limiting his liquid intake after a certain time, but since he continues to pee through the diaper we have stopped that.  We have tried putting a maxi pad in the diaper, along with double diapering....AND NOTHING WORKS!!!!!!  We use Pampers Baby Dry, but the baby dry is not seeming to help.  Is there anything else that  we could try....we are soooooo open to suggestions!!!!!!!!!

Re: Night Time Soaking Wet Diapers.....

  • Wow! Sounds like you've tried quite a bit. We use Pampers too and have no leaking problems. However, I've heard diapers fit some kids differently. Maybe you should start trying different brands of diapers for nighttime.

  • I used the Fisher Price night time diapers for DS. Just because I found a deal on amazon. Maybe try one of the nighttime ones. We got the Fisher Price and the Pampers and bith seem to work ok.
  • We have the same issue about twice a week...we use Pampers Cruisers and i just got her a bigger size cuz i thought it was that too...What i noticed though is that when i get up for work at 345am and i change her diaper it will sometimes be dry even though shes been asleep since 8pm. So i think what happens is she holds her pee somehow and then when she pees all at once its too much. Idk thats the only thing i can think of because we have also tried all Huggies diapers and had no luck.

  • so are you using pamper cruisers? i've been using the12 hr baby dry, but it really doesn't help!!!!  i think i'm goning to try huggies today, and i was also told about diaper covers and diaper boosters....who knows!!!  once i figure it out, i'll be sure to post!!!!  thanks for your input!!!
  • We were using Pampers Baby Dry at night and having the same problem so I switched to the Pampers Night Time diapers. They don't feel or look much different but the leaking stopped! Maybe just try a night time diaper?

  • We use these from Babies R Us.

They work great!  We've been using them for 10 months and have only had 2 leaks in that time.  I highly recommend them.  They absorb much better than a Maxi Pad.

  • DS was soaking through his diapers too, but the Huggies overnight diapers work great for us.

  • DS is 27 pounds and routinely pees out of the size 6 overnight diapers. Waking him up mid-night to change him is just not an option. I'm so frustrated!

I have tried some cloth ones- namely fleece and hemp and it just won't hold. I find the Pampers overnights split open on him regularly. We have the most luck with Huggies overnights, size 6, but they are SO heavy when he wakes up and are often sagging so far down on him. So frustrating! The only other thing I considered was double diapering- putting 2 on him. I might try that and see how it works. I'm so sick of split open diapers!

    I feel your pain.

I 2nd these.  We use them for my DS who is potty trained during the day but still wears pull ups at night.  He was constantly leaking through his pull ups and these have stopped that.

  • Another vote for Huggies Overnights, one size up.  I normally use Baby Dry during the day but Huggies Overnights in a size up has worked (most nights) for both kids.
  • We had this same problem!  We use huggies overnights and these inserts from amazon:

    https://www.amazon.com/Tranquility-TopLiner-Booster-Medium-Inserts/dp/B002DQY9HO/ref=pd_sim_hpc_3

He wears a 4 during the day and these inserts fit in a 6 at night. If you get them make sure the top of the insert is below the absorbent area of the diaper or they will leak out the top.  They are better than maxi pads because the liquid flows through them to the diaper, so both are absorbing.  Now leaks are maybe once every 2 weeks and we can't figure out why they happen then.  Hope that helps!

  • We had the same problem  with Baby Dry, we tried Cruisers and never looked back
  • If it makes you feel better, my son pees through everything, too.  Double diapers.  Triple stuffed cloth diapers.  Overnight pads.  Size up diapers.  Everything!  Recently, he has been peeing through but not soaking.  I think he soaks at some point during the night but by the time he wakes up his pajamas are dry.  They're still always peed on, though.  We use Huggies Overnights.  Maybe I'll try something different.

No hope so far, though, haha
