Baby will be 3 months old tomorrow and we are still swaddling for nights and most naps. We tried one night without the swaddle and we were all miserable the next day because between the startle reflex and pulling his pacifier out of his mouth, he only slept an hour at a time. He's a big boy and already wearing 6-9 month clothes and has outgrown all his swaddles. (We've been using the Miracle Blanket up to this point)
If you're still swaddling your big baby, what are you using? He breaks out of blankets too easily, and we tried a Woombie but he hated it because he could move his arms around but not get them to his face. Any suggestions?

I am. I just tried this last nap to go sans-swaddle and it was a no go. I wound up swaddling T until 4 months, and it did her no permanent damage - actually she is a fantastic sleeper.
I have a giant child also, around 15.5 lbs in 6 month clothes and I'm using the Large swaddleme they are for 14-20 lbs I believe. They had the large ones at target or babies r us. I'm hoping to wean him from it soon, but I'm not willing to go back to crappy sleep to do it.
We're doing one nap a day in a swaddle, the rest out, and night time in the swaddle. I too have a 15lb baby and the large swaddlemes are still working for us as well.
We're trying to wean, but we stopped last week due to LO being sick. We'll probably try again next weekend when we're more willing / able to deal with crappy sleep. Trying to leave one arm out at a time, but he keeps slapping himself in the face while asleep and waking himself up!
Thanks for the reassurance!
I had forgotten about the double swaddle method, but I think we will try that out!
I stopped swaddling at the middle of June...I tried once or twice before that and she woke up but one day it just stuck and we haven't gone back
It was too hot for a swaddle... She often sleeps with just a diaper.
