Re: Question....
Your OB/GYN should be able to advise you. Just give them a call. Or you can look at your insurance website. They sometimes have guidelines on what they will cover. Good luck.
Thanks! I know I am early thinking on these things, but the age thing is starting to make me nervous. I will call my ob and see what he says after cycle 6.
Knowing what I know now, I would recommend getting one done sooner than later. I would talk to your OB or make a consult with a RE to talk through next steps. You can always say that you have been TTC for 6 months too. We started when I was 34 and I did not see an RE until a year of TTC and I wish I had gone earlier. And I wasted one year with a RE who did not do a SA and my DH turned out to have some issues when our 2nd RE did a SA -- the results led us to IUI & IVF. I feel like I wasted a lot of time not having one done. And if there is nothing wrong, then you will know it early on as well.
Just my thoughts!!
It sucks that I have to already tta for Sept and maybe Oct to have a hernia repair.
My yearly appointment with my ob is in Jan and if nothing has happened by then I will talk to my ob then.
My DH and I were both over 35 when I talked to my ob/gyn about this last year and she told us to wait a year (which I found weird, since everywhere I've read says 6 months for over 35).

Balaustine: an anthology about wanting family
I wouldn't worry yet unless there's something in his medical history that suggests a problem. However, the SA is only 100 out of pocket if you want some reassurance and your insurance won't pay for it yet. The hard part, of course, is getting your husband to agree to do it!
FWIW, we strongly regret not having my husband tested years ago, but we knew he had a potential problem. I'm pretty sure things would have turned out completely differently for us if we had ...
