I just wanted to put this on here since someone did it when I was pregnant and it came in very handy after our babies arrived!
If you decide you are going to use formula for your multiples, after they are born you can mail copies of their birth certificates to Similac and they will send you free formula. We received 2 cases (12) bottles of the premixed stuff. You are able to choose which kind you want, including the Organic version. We tried to just send in a form from our pedi's office but now Similac requires a copy of their birth certificates. You are allowed to white out some of the info, they basically just need to see that they were born on the same day, and are listed on the BC as being part of a multiples birth. I'm not sure if there are other companies that do this but I know for sure Similac does.
Hope this helps somebody out, I sure appreciated the free stuff! ![]()
Re: PSA: Let's Share Multiples Discounts You Have Found
I posted a list on my blog of what companies I wrote to, what I put in the letter, and what I received from each company. I sent my letters back in June 2009 when my boys were babies, but might be helpful:
https://rootbeertwins.blogspot.com/2009/07/discounts-and-freebies-for-multiples.html
This source is a couple of years old, but I bookmarked it as a list of companies to contact when our boys come

**Edit, didn't see the last post before I replied (phone), so there's probably a bit of overlap there
Thanks for the extra info!!

Essure implant placed on remaining tube 06.13.2013; successful followup scan 09.30.2013
Babies r Us has a multiples discount as well. It can only be used for furniture (cribs, mattresses, dressers, etc) and baby gear, such as car seats, etc, but you must purchase 2 of the same item, and the item has to be at least $100
These lists are awesome, I want to contact a bunch of them ASAP, we could certainly use the savings!
Silly question though, would it be weird to do this 4 months out? Should I include something in my letter to the affect of "just learning about this discount now"?
Not at all! I did them when my boys were about 5 or 6 months old b/c that's when I finally found the time!
I don't think it would be weird at all. It would be weird if they were 3yrs old lol but 4mo sounds fine - especially for the companies that offer baby food!

Does it really have to state on bc that they r a part of a multiple birth because I don't see thst on my boys bc's!
I was thinking the same thing. Ours don't say it was a multiple birth, but they'd have to be morons to not be able to figure it out from two different certificates, minutes apart, same parents
Thank you again so much ladies for posting all these suggestions!!!! I'm pulling out our birth certificates first thing in the morning to start making copies.
Im sorry I didn't know it's not standard on BCs. In Wisconsin it's on there but I would certainly hope if you send in two with all the same info, they would be able to put it together that they are multiples!
I will! I'm totally anal, so I will make a little spreadsheet of who I contact and who sends what, and then will share on here. I know we all can use whatever help we can get, with double (or more) the diapers, etc....
I wrote to all the companies in the rootbeer blog and a few more. I got coupons from Pampers & Huggies, toys & sippy cups from TOMY, a coupon for $10 worth of free Gerber products, and coupons from Ocean Spray. Sassy sent me an order form stating if I purchased one of the products listed they would double the order at no extra charge. The other companies either didn't respond or responded saying they did not have a multiples program. I am still waiting for the circus tickets. Enfamil told me to have my pedi tell his formula rep about my twins and they would send a "special gift," I haven't done this so I don't know what that is.
My twins are 2 months old and I sent out the letters when they were 3 weeks.
It seems like that kind of thing varies by store. Like my local store let me stack the multiples discount (for our Snugrides) with the registry completion coupon and 15% off and 20% off one item coupons, but other MoMs said their BRU manager wouldn't let them stack those.
I was just at my local BRU today, and they told me yes you could. They do the great trade in a few times a year, so I think I will catch this next go round. My boys are 8 months and still fit the infant seat fine. And seeing how much we spent on them....yeah.
I sent letters out to most of these companies when the girls were around 4 months old. We did get some cool stuff. Unfortunately, I wasn't organized about recording what I got from which company.
