I don't have my first appointment with my midwife for another two weeks so I was hoping one of you ladies might know the answer to this: Will a midwife do a CVS or amnio?
I have a genetic disorder called retinitis pigmentosa. It causes blindness (primarily in men). While I carry the disordeer, I am not affected by it and it won't cause any problems with my pregnancy. That said, I would like to know as soon as possible if I'm having a son that has it so that I can begin finding a retina specialist.

Try not to worry I know it's hard and I'm so glad you're getting your ducks in a row, but for now just focus on staying healthy and growing that sweet baby of yours! Due to family history, we had genetic counseling (but didn't need the amnio) and still got to see & deliver with a midwife.
I'm sure everything will work out just fine. Best of luck
