Special Needs

Toys R Us

Saw this on my FB tonight.

Their toy guide for "differently-abled" kids.  It's pretty decent in how it breaks out toys (not different toys - regular everyday toys) based on skill - fine motor, gross motor, language, etc.

Pretty interesting.  With the holidays not all that far away, I figured I'd share.

Re: Toys R Us

  • I LOVE this. And I really love the language they use as well. Differently-abled is my favorite phrase of the ones available.

  • I think it's a great concept, but if you look at the site it has one car seat for premies and three or four other things, 2 are dolls, one doctor kit and an art sketch pad. I mean come on, put a little effort into it.  The obviously want to expand things to special needs, which is great, and then insult us by putting 3 or 4 things on there.  I find it a little disheartening to be honest, that they didn't put anymore thought into what was actually in the category.
