As a slight departure from the earlier post about baby weight, I am curious about working out and BFing. So far, DD and I have been going for 2 mile walks most days but I have not been hard core working out at all. I am wondering about you girls-- who is working out? What are you doing? Is it working? If you are working out and BFing, have you found that heavy exercise is impacting your supply or ability to breast feed?

Re: Working out and BFing
I work out during my work day (usually from 10-11:30). I run a mile for warm-up, do squats, jumping jacks, push ups and other activities to help build my strength back up. I started back up when I was 6 weeks PP. With working out, eating less and breastfeeding, I notice that I am losing a significant amount of my baby weight. I can already fit into my pre pregnancy jeans!! I haven't noticed any kind of change in my milk supply and I breastfeed just fine.
Thank you for inspiring me to get my butt in gear!!!
I have solely been walking and it's really not doing much as far as weight loss is concerned.
You're more than welcome! You have to ease back into it, I certainly wasn't running an entire mile non-stop right away. But I had to be consistent. Good luck!
I went back to running at 5 1/2 weeks and have been slowly increasing mileage. Its hard because I have to get up early and pump, then run before hubby goes to work but I feel great and it has boosted my supply!
