Our IT initiated a web-based service request program about 6-12 months ago. Prior to that, we submitted all our requests in email to our front desk staff and they coordinated with IT. With the new system, it was drilled over and over that we were responsible ourselves. Okay, that's fine.
Last Wednesday I submitted a request because my BB stopped receiving emails. No response from IT (not unusual) so I called this morning to find out the status because I'm in the field for the rest of the week and being without email access is particularly challenging.
The IT rep came down, looked at my BB, and said he needed to take it to get it fixed. Again, that's fine. But then he just came back down because the department's communications coordinator now says that any BB requests need to go through our front staff and be emailed. Argh, really? Then what is the point of having the big web-program. And if this change was made, when was it communicated to everyone? I'm so annoyed.
Whiny vent over.

Re: Work vent - feel free to ignore
And now it's not ready for me to take back tonight. I have to ask a co-worker to take my call tonight and I hate doing that.
