They say it takes 30 days to make something a habit. 30 days is very doable, it's easy to track progress and gives a great sense of accomplishment in a relatively short period of time. A 30 Day Challenge is a great way to motivate and challenge yourself towards reaching your goals, no matter what they are. In the past, I gave myself two different challenges: 30 days of 99% raw foods (I did still drink coffee but everything else was raw/vegetarian food) and separate 30 day yoga challenge (doing some amount of yoga every day even if it was only a couple of poses).
The bonus is, many challenge habits continue after the 30 days. So who's in for a 30 Day Challenge? We'll make it easy and start on September 1st. This will give a few days to decide what challenge you wish to embark on. Here's what to do:
Step 1: choose a challenge. Make it something you can do every day and that you really feel passionate about (I listed a few idea below but pick something that is truly your goal)
Step 2: make sure you have everything you need to embark on the 30 day journey (equipment, ideas of when to engage in the activity, strategies for avoiding excuses, someone to watch little one, etc.)
Step 3: Do it and track your progress. I love using a wall calendar because I'm really visual and I love watching the days and weeks fill up with successes. Post on the Bump. ***Since I don't always sign on in the morning, whoever is the first one of the day can start the daily log post. Look at all posts thus far in the day and if you see that no one has started it, just post the subject as "30 Day Challenge (plus the date)"***
If you miss a day, don't sweat it. Just see how many days out of 30 you can do. Then if you give yourself the same challenge in the future, try to reach at least one more day in those 30.
Step 4: Celebrate/reward yourself
