Anyone breastfeeding while on PPD meds?

I was recently diagnosed with PPD/PPA by my OB. My son is 5 mo old and EBF. OB prescribed Zoloft for me but I haven't started it yet. I am having a hard time deciding if I want to go the med route while breastfeeding. OB reassured me that it was safe, most everything I have read online has been reassuring as well. I still feel weird about it, like guilty almost. 

I feel like I know I am going to end up just needing to take it to get myself back to normal. I just have this irrational fear that by taking it I am going to cause some kind of problem with him. Which is most likely the PPD talking anyway. I am having a hard time. Anyone out there taking PPD meds and still BFing with some words of encouragement?

    I also have ppd and I'm taking meds for it. I do feel much better on my meds and have seen no undo effects on my DD.

    My doula BF  her LO for almost 2 years while on PPD meds.  Take care of yourself and don't feel guilty for a second.

    I took Lexapro with DD1 starting around 5 months pp and nursed her while on it. I too had a hard time with starting medication, but I knew that if I didn't take care of me, I wouldn't be able to take care of her. She is now almost 3 and we haven't seen any negative "side effects" on her from me taking the medication.

    I have a history of depression and was on Wellbutrin front a couple years. When I got pregnant my OB switched me to Zoloft and I have been taking that since Little O was only 6 weeks along in my belly, and continued it my entire pregnancy. She is now a happy healthy PORKY 8 week old who is EBF and loving it! No problems with her gestation in my belly, and none since she was born....oh except one minor thing...she's super pretty!

    Good luck! Take good care of you, so you can take good care of your little peanut! No shame! Be proud of yourself for seeking the help you needed! Zoloft is great!
