Sick, but not sure what to give for meds

DS has been sick with something for a couple of days now. The fever is mostly gone, but he doesn't really have any other symptoms. He doesn't sleep well at night anymore, but I don't know what's wrong. He'll sleep for a couple hours, then wake up upset. He's not coughing, doesn't have a runny nose or sore throat. He eats just fine, but is cranky and fussy. I took him to the Dr. because he'd had a fever for so long, and he said it's "just one of those viruses kids get". Help! I want him to feel better, but hugs and kisses aren't doing the trick. He gets Advil at night, but I'm not sure if that's right.

    Agree with pp.  Unfortunately there isn't much you can do other than advil or tylenol if they seem in pain.  Our pedi has also given us the proper dosage of benadryl in case she's stuffy and can't breathe well, but you don't seem to be having that issue right now.

    LO hasn't had a fever about 100.5, and the only time I gave her tylenol is after shots. If she is fussy and seems like she has a runny/snuffy nose I put on some vicks baby rub before bed and make sure she had a humidifier going. She also sleeps in a diaper because i'm afraid she is too hot. She always sleeps better on the cooler side than bundled up. Try some baby rub, it might do wonders for you.
