Update on me.....CCRM...LONG

Hi Everyone!

I have been MIA for a little while trying to figure out where to go after our last failed cycle and LONG break from everything IF.

So, I had my consult with CCRM last week. I spoke with Dr. Schoolcraft and he suggested that I may have an egg quality issue. He discussed donor eggs (which has always been in discussion) as well as trying IVF with my eggs one more time. He said that the day 3 CGH testing that we used could in fact have harmed my embryos, which means I may not have been given my best chance in my IVF cycles. I always thought about that since we never had any embryos make it to freeze (even the 10 normals we had with my last IVF didn't make it to freeze...not even 1). Basically, no one can really figure out what is causing my losses, but I am ready to try again one more time and if it doesn't work, then I know I went to the best and it still did not work out.

I was able to get an appointmeny for my one day work up this past Thursday (must be between cycle days 5-13). I just got back from my one day work up in Colorado and I have to say I am IMPRESSED! The organization and professionalism was incredible. Dr. Schoolcraft was great in person and reiterated a lot of what we talked about on the phone. He said that I have had just about every test that I could have and that he would add a few therapies (lovenox and possibly metformin based on bloodwork results) that I have not had before to try to give me my best shot. The ultrasound that was performed was not like anything I have ever seen before. It showed the bloodflow to my uterus and also took pictures in 3D. It was pretty cool.

So basically, I will be going to Colorado in about 2 months or so from now to do an IVF cycle with CCS testing on day 5. All of my results that I have gotten back so far look great (I look great on paper....I'm an enigma to most doctors). Dr. Schoolcraft believes we need to find that one golden egg....I hope he can find it!!

I hope your cycle break treated you well - sounds like a great plan in place with CCRM. You can guarantee that I will be stalking your cycle as I anticipate to cycle there in the spring (after my long much needed cycle break).

This post was exactly what I needed to see for rest assurance as I prep for my consult on Tuesday - thanks for unknowingly giving me added confidence in my decision to strongly consider CCRM in Colorado - I will be traveling from California, if all goes well with our consult.
