Re: AAP updates position on circumcision
The academy, the leading U.S. pediatric group, now says the health benefits of circumcision outweigh the risks and that families who choose to circumcise their baby boys should be able to.

A summary:
The AAP updated the position that was last updated in 1999.
They aren't recommending the procedure for all male newborns, but they are saying that the medical benefits outweigh the risks (health-wise) and the benefits justify insurance covering circumcision.
"do it if you want, shouldn't be routine for everyone, but it's not horrible, and insurance should cover it"

Anyone else get the giggles when they started quoting Dr. Wang?
No?
Teeheehee.
Also, I had an MFM appointment with a Dr. McWeeney. It's been six months and I still giggle at that. (He was very pleasant, but his name is so unfortunate).
LOL, me!
That pretty much sums it up. Just seems like a way to ensure that insurance and Medicaid will cover the procedure.
