Babies: 9 - 12 Months

lo will not leave my side! help!!!

all of a sudden my daughter will not let anyone except me and her daycare staff. she screams and cries like crazy now when even my husband picks her up. she never did this before. she is with my husband 3 days out of the week and is a total daddy's girl. today all of a sudden when holds her she screams until i come and then she is fine. Anyone else experience this???

  • we're just getting to the end of it...we also went through it around 5-6 months. I think 9 months is the most common age for seperation anxiety though. I'm pretty sure it's just one of those things that you have to just ride out until it ends...it can get so frustrating because it's hard to get anything done when you can't walk out of a room without LO flipping out but just remember it's only temporary and totally normal. HTH :)

    This.  This age is typically when they realize you are a separate entity that can leave and possibly not come back.  For the longest time DD would wail if either my mom or I walked away from her even if DH was holding her.  You need to just get through it.  Eventually when they start asking for daddy over you you'll feel that little pang of sadness.  So cuddle your LO when she gets that needy.
