Maternity clothes shopping trip

Hey Ladies,

My DH and I are heading to Albertville and Minneapolis for the long weekend and I was wondering if any of you know of other stores that I could shop at for maternity stores other than Motherhood Maternity or Thyme. We already have those in Canada, but I am hoping to find some good deals that won't cost $40 just for a shirt and $70 for a pair of pants. And I hope this isnt asking too much, but I also hope to find some fall styles. I have googled like crazy, but only MM seems to pop up.... I am sure someone out there knows a few more nooks and crannies for this.

Thank you so much in advance if you can please share some gems.

  • I got pants from Old Navy for $35 but I haven't shopped for any other items yet.

  • I've looked at Old Navy and they do have some things on sale/clearance sometimes. I saw a pair of pants for around $18. Personally I really don't like spending a lot of money for maternity clothes so I check out local thrift stores like a Good Will. The selections aren't so big but I've found majority of my clothes from there and in great condition. Every thrift store is different, but if you have some near you or where you're staying and haven't checked them out.. You should!

  • I think Old Navy has the best value (money spent vs. quality of clothes) though their in-store selections are not that great. Everything is on the website.

I've really liked the mat. pants that I've gotten at JCPenney. Their "house brand" is Duo and they fit me well.

Gap is great but the most expensive and has the least amount of sale/clearance.

    IMO, Motherhood stuff sucks.

Are you going to the Mall of America? They do have a lot of selections (I know Old Navy has a mat. section and there is a Destination Maternity) but you might not find the best sales...since the MOA is such a destination, they don't have to have the kinds of sales that regular stores have. Good luck!

  • For consignment stores in mpls check out bellies to babies and nine consign. Clothes mentor isn't just maternity but its one of my favorites too. Gap and old navy are probably your best bets for cheaper stuff here! Good luck!

  • Target just put out some cute dresses - I got an adorable purple faux wrap dress that is also nursing friendly so I can wear it post-partum. Kohls has some nice things as well. I went there with my mom and found a couple autumn-y sweaters.

  • If you are going to Mall of America, check H&M.  I found a pair of pants and a couple shirts that I liked there.  Super tiny maternity section though.

  • I've been snagging a lot from the clearance section of Japanese Weekend.  Appropriate enough to wear to work and cute enough to wear on weekends.  I have yet to pay more than $19.99 for anything I have purchased from there and the quality is much better than MM, IMHO.

  • I really like Gap Maternity.
