Anyone ever been here? Anyone live near here? We are thinking about a trip in October for our anniversary. We own a timeshare (and wish we didn't) and have a week to use that is from 2010. This week will no longer be available after 2012 ends. We cannot afford to fly anywhere-but found we could take Amtrak to Salt Lake City for around the cost of one airplane ticket. We have to keep costs to a bare minimum, so as not to dip into savings for our upcoming cycle. We are on the fence of letting the week expire (timeshare company wins) and just deciding to do this trip. The resort has a beautiful indoor/outdoor pool and if we cannot find enough to do, it's less than an hours drive from Salt Lake City. Figuring that should our DE IVF work, this won't be an option for a long time.

ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive. Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)
DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!
I've never been, but I just wanted to say that if you have the chance to take what might be a very affordable BabyMoon, I'd take it!
MH and I haven't taken any vacations since before we were married, what with us both being in school and now my work and his field work schedule. Plus the possibility of needing to pay for IUIs and/or IVF.
It may even help you relax and get rejuvenated and make your next cycle more successful!

Hi - I used to live in Utah but visited Park City last summer and it really is beautiful, you can go watch people at the Olympic stadium skiing downhill slopes and landing in the pool, I could have stayed all day it was just so interesting. You can take a tram ride which is neat, there are a lot of shops you can do window shopping in, great (but expensive) golf, etc. It is not far from SLC so you can drive down to the valley in the day if you wanted to and see Temple Square (worth seeing even if you aren't Mormon, I'm not Mormon and think it's lovely, https://www.visittemplesquare.com/), and also if you wanted to drive another 30 min. or so you could go to Kennecott Mine which is DEFINITELY worth it, haven't been there in years but my brother just went last weekend and said it is awesome - (https://www.kennecott.com/visitors-center). If you wanted some physical exercise I'd recommend driving South (probably about an hour and 15 min drive from Park City) to see Timpanogous Cave (https://www.nps.gov/tica/index.htm) it's a bit of a hike (paved path) to get up but really neat to go inside though I haven't been there since I was a teenager.
Lastly, I'd recommend going to my favorite restaurant ever which is in Bountiful, UT called El Matador where you get "warm" salsa served to you. I love it so much when I go to UT and land in the afternoon my mom and I head there first thing and I always put a jar of salsa in my checked luggage and just pray it doesn't break on the way back to DC. (https://ogden.citysearch.com/profile/10344064/bountiful_ut/el_matador_restaurant.html). Ask for the waitress "Samantha" and tell her the lady that comes in and orders plain tacos from Washington DC sent you. She is so funny I only go about twice a year (always at Christmas) and for 3 years in a row she's remembered me and remembered what I ordered, she's a granddaughter of the owner and beautiful young lady.
That's my recommendations! :-)

Thank you so much for all the excellent information! I'm actually beginning to get excited about this trip and will be trying every one of your ideas. It's a great starting place for us, as we are clueless about this area.
I was pretty hesitant about the whole idea, but beginning to get excited! Will PM you if I can think of specific questions. Thank you
