Is it normal for LO to have a flat spot? Even the slightest one? My LO has recently been sleeping a lot long through the night. She loves playing on her activity mat (tummy and back). I noticed (although my hubby doesn't feel it and he thinks I'm crazy) that she has a slight flat area on the crown of her head. I'm not sure if this is where the soft spots are or if it really it flat. I find myself checking all the time! She is on her belly a lot and I carry her around a lot, too so she is off her head quite a bit. I most baby heads are maliable and I read that they usually work themselves out (if not severe) when they start rolling, etc. Am I just being super paranoid?

Re: Flat Spot?
Instead of feeling it, look at the top of her head. Does it look abnormally shaped, like there's an obvious side that's flat not round? If so, then I'd mention it to the pedi.
It's normal, common to get a flat spot. Noticing it now is good. Try to move her head before or after she's asleep to the opposite side of the flat spot. Or switch her position in the crib so she turns her head the other way (i.e. most babies turn their head towards the door, so flipping her body but still turning her head towards the door makes her head being laid on the other side).
I looked, I don't SEE a flat spot. Her head looks totally normal but I just feel a flat spot like the size of a quarter. It's right on the crown of her head and not more on one side or the other. I'm probably just being overly paranoid. She just had her 2 month check up and the pedi didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.
That sounds great then!
