The twinkies are still going strong. One is a 3cell and the other is a 4 cell. Transfer tomorrow at 11:15. Fingers crossed. Now the question, we don't want twins. We will struggle with one more, but two......my nurse who is amazing suggests transferring both. What do you all think?

IMO this is something only you and your DH can decide. You need to weigh your outcomes and rank them based on your situation.  You may also want to talk to your RE about your embryo quality and if they think if you only transfer one, what the likelyhood of the other making it to freeze is.

    Your most likely options are:

    Transfer 2, both stick

    Transfer 2, one stick

Transfer 1, the other arrests before freeze

Transfer 1, the other makes it to freeze

DH and I also had to weigh our options. As we were entirely OOP and our IVF was our one shot at a family, we put 2 back. We have twins from it. We've talked and IF we decide to cycle again in the future, we'll only do a SET. We have a family with our girls now, and the disappointment of a failed cycle would be easier to accept now that we have children, vs when we were a childless couple.

Its a very personal decision, and I wish you all the best in making it.

TTC#1 since Mar 2008. Serious MFI due to cancer. 3 cancelled IUI's, just about every test in the book. IVF#1 - BFP! Twin girls arrived 2/5/10 at 35w2d. Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

For fresh cycle, we agreed that if it was a 3dt we'd do 2, because statistically the success rate is about high as a 5dt of one (obviously with a higher rate of multiples).  Now that we have DS, I don't think we'd ever transfer 2.

    2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
    TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
    Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

I don't have experience with IVF so I'm not much help on how many to transfer. It's definitely a personal decision. I think I would go with my RE's suggestion based on the quality of the embryos. I'm glad both are going strong! Good luck with your decision.

I am SO thrilled to read they are both doing well!!!

I think if it were me I'd transfer both. But I'm open to twins in that I know that if I ended up with four children, rather than 3, I would be so done and would be able to close the door on my fertility struggles forever. I seriously look so forward to that far off point in my life!

It is a hard decision to make though, GL!

    It's a very personal decision.

I think you should talk it over with your RE, get the embie grades and go from there.  If they are both perfect embryos, you may not want to transfer them both.  It's really hard to say!

Good luck with your decision and your ET!

It's such a personal decision for you and your DH to make, but if you're asking for my 2 cents...

We've decided that if we do another 3dt we'll transfer 2 (DS was the result of a 3dt of 2 7 cell embies). If we make it to a 5dt, we'll most likely transfer only 1. I wish you all the best of luck with whatever you choose!!

I'm so glad your little rock stars are growing strong! As for deciding how many to transfer, it really is a personal decision. When TTC#1 we did two IVF cycles. Both were 3dt. We transferred two each time and each time I was pg with a singleton. (The first time I m/c. The second gave us P.) However if I knew there wash way at all we could handle twins, I would transfer one. I think your Re should also be able to talk to you about the chances of twins today. Good luck hon!!!
