17 day LP

I completely got my hopes up, only to now be both disappointed and embarrassed about making a big deal about nothing. 

So, I usually have a 14 or 15 day LP.  Thursday was 15 dpo.  Friday was 16 dpo, and still no sign of FP and no positive test.  So, late in the day I called my RE, who sent me to get a blood test. 

Blood test was negative, my sweet RE called Saturday morning and left me the message.  Saturday, 17 dpo, comes and goes with no FP.  Finally, FP came this morning. 

I'm usually pretty good about not being too hopeful, but I felt like there was something different this cycle.  Turns out I was wrong.  So, back to the drawing board. 

Does anyone else have a really long LP?

    Oh I am so sorry... FP is bad enough but when you add in HOPE--it is all the more heart crushing.  Hang in there friend.

    So sorry about the bfn. ((hugs))

    My natural cycles I have a 16 day LP.  My clomid cycle it was 17.  It makes for a long wait.  

    Me: 38, PCOS/ DH: 37

    DD born 12.21.09, conceived w/ injects and IUI



    TTC#2 since Nov 2011

    BFP 2.6.12 m/c 6w5d | BFP 5.25.12 c/p

    -Back to the RE-

    3 medicated IUIs, all BFN

    -Taking a break from treatment-

    BFP 11.20.12 ~ EDD 7.28.13

    So sorry!  But don't be embarrassed - why wouldn't you get your hopes up if you have a consistent 14/15 LP?  It's perfectly natural!  Big hugs - go have a big glass of wine,


    Me: 37 DH: 37 TTC since Jan 2012. RE consult and initial testing done in Aug 2012: SA fine, AMH 1.1 & HSG clear - on way to IUI but got BFP on 9/10/2012. m/c 10/3/2012 at 6w5d. BFP next cycle which was a c/p. IUI #1: Clomid 100mg 12/6= BFN. IUI#2 (unmedicated) Jan 2013 = BFN. Hysteroscopy 1/25/13. IUI#3 Clomid 100mg 2/23 = BFN IUI# 4: BFN. IVF #1 April 2013, BFP!  EDD 1/12/14 with Boy!

    So sorry about the BFN, I would have been excited too if my LP was usually 14-15 days and then had a 17 day LP.  That's a terrible mind game to go through.

    I would have been in the same boat you were in. In fact, I've gotten my hopes up when AF was ONE day late, let alone a couple extra.

    I prefer to think of cycles like that as practice runs-- as if the egg almost implanted but then decided not to at the last minute and hence the delay.

    How frustrating and disappointing.  I'm so sorry.

    My LP likes to mess with my head.  It kept getting longer - 17 or 18 days.  Then, we figured out that my positive OPKs were coming a few days too early and my actual ovulation was a few days later.
