Light pink spotting/discharge?

Hey ladies-

Has anyone experienced light pink discharge? After using the bathroom (sorry for TMI) I was wiping when I noticed it. I haven't had intercourse recently and I am 10 weeks along. I had an US when I was 6 and 1/2 weeks and saw the heartbeat so I know things were okay at that point. I have my next check-up Wednesday morning but I am concerned.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Re: Light pink spotting/discharge?

  • I experienced it with my first and I had a healthy baby. It's pretty normal. I have also been spotting and even some bright red blood. I had an u/s last week and I saw the hb. I am not worrying at this point.

I had a m/c back in May and I barely spotted at all before my first appt and u/s and we saw no hb.

If you bleed/spot I think it can be completely normal. In my case I didn't and I m/c. Things are never what they seem so please do not panic. I know thats not easy though...

If you are concerned then do call your OB. They will help to reassure you or get you in a day sooner to check you out.

  • With my 2nd daughter, I had light pink spotting every couple of weeks, usually after a bowel movement. I haven't had it with any of my other pregnancies, but DD was born full-term and healthy with no complications.

  • I had seen my doctor last week and asked about this. It only happen once for me, I had light pink blood when I had went to the bathroom.she told me it was fine, she informed me it could be from everything starting to stretch it could cause a little blood. I wouldn't worry about it as long as its pink and not red. I had an us and everything looked great. Congrats on Your baby!

  • Just starting 8th week, and noticed pink spotting a few days ago.  Called my midwives' practice, and they assured me that as long as the spotting isn't bright red or a very large volume, there's nothing to worry about with first trimester spotting, and no reason to come in.  However, they did advise taking it easy and avoiding intercourse/exercise for a few days.  I've continued to spot pink/brown since then and am having a little trouble not obsessively worrying about it, but supposedly everything should be fine....just slightly nerve-racking with 2 weeks to go till my first appt.
