TTC after 35

Introduction!

I am fairly new here to the bump.  I joined in July after learning I was pregnant with baby #4.  I am 38 y/o-mother or 3 ages 2,3/12 and 11.  I learned I was pregnant after having Mirena IUD removed after complications.  I was surprised and excited then disappointment when I suffered a miscarriage at 5w3d.  I moved on the themiscarriage/pregnancy loss board and then TTC after loss board.  I am having my first AF after MC so I am ready to TTC again and decided it was time to move on to here.  I hope I am welcomed and I am looking forward to getting to know you ladies!!

Re: Introduction!

  • Sorry about your loss. And welcome.

I may be a little bittersweet with that, though, since you have 3 already. Usually, I give women like you dirty looks when I see them around town. Fertile myrtles are not always sensitive to those of us struggling just to have our first. I hope you're more sensitive than most, having spent some time on the other boards.

That being said, the women here are a great resource and very supportive! Nobody else understands our special cup of "crazy" that comes with TTC > 35 for months, years, etc.

I am very sensitive to anyone struggling to have a child whether it is their 1st,3rd or whatever the number.  I don't consider myself a fertile myrtle just blessed.  My MC was very hard on me and my family.  Being at my age, I know it is going to get even harder to conceive.  After reading all of the losses on the board, I would never say anything offensive to anyone here.  That is not what I am here for.  I am here to get and both give support.  And I am glad to be welcomed aboard.

  • I'm very glad to hear it (not the MC part, obviously-- that's always devastating). We have a really great group of women here. I think you'll find it really helpful to have women who know what you're going through...
