My DD is 4 months and still hates tummy time. We have tried everything to get her to like it..,laying on the floor, talking, mirrors, toys. Is it really that big of a deal? She can sit up with help and hold her head up great. I'm just worried becuase I see friends who have babies the same age that can support themselves on their arms (I know every baby is different but it is hard not to compare).
Also any tips on getting her to like a pacifier? I am hoping it will help her self soothe but she will only take it for a few seconds and then spit it out (have tried 2 different kinds maybe we need to buy every shape?)
Re: Tummy time fail
Now he lays there sucking his hand. We just keep trying. He sits nicely and holds his head well too. I think the tummy time is so they are not always on their back and also to help promote crawling in the future. I am pretty sure once C starts crawling, T will follow suit or be left in the dust. LOL

So, for tummy time. L is only now starting to enjoy it and will stay down for a little while. Before now, we would just try for a few mins at a time, a few times a day. She likes the mirror, and most times, I have to be on the floor with her for her not to fuss.
Pacifiers. Have you tried 2 different kinds, or brands? L doesnt keep the silicone ones in her mouth for more than a few seconds, but will keep the latex ones in forever. You literally have to pry them out of her mouth. We had to order them on Amazon, I couldnt find them in the store, but maybe try those?
THIS
We got a special "tummy time" mat off of Amazon. It sounds gimmicky, but it worked. It has this little pillow that props her up perfectly so that she doesn't have to struggle to keep her face off the floor (we had another mat with a pillow but it didn't do the job like this) and lots of bells and whistles right within her reach, including a mirror, which I know you said didn't work for you but this one has an adjustable folding velcro stand (hard to explain, you kind of have to see it) that allows you to make it so that the mirror is at the perfect height depending on how LO is lying.
A couple of days on this mat, and presto, she loves tummy time anywhere. She sleeps on her stomach now too, and will not stay on her back. She is always rolling to her stomach. Problem is, she still can't roll over the other way, so she gets stuck there and DH and I have to constantly come to her rescue and flip her over.
Don't know if this gizmo will work for you, but I just wanted to mention it. Here's a link:
