Warm/Cold WCM question

So my little pickles is rather particular with her WCM and I was wondering if you ladies are experiencing the same thing or have any suggestions?

She drinks WCM only warm in a bottle. She wont drink warm in a sippy or cold in a sippy or bottle. Why? I was hoping cold and in a sippy would come easy peasy but she does not like it.

What do you think?

Re: Warm/Cold WCM question

  • This is just a suggestion because we were fortunate with L and he takes cold milk from a sippy happily.
Can you gradually change the temp of the milk?  Like today it's warm, but tomorrow it's lukewarm, and the day after it's room temp..... until you get to cold?

Would I do this with all of them? Including bed time and middle of the night bottles?

  • My thought would be yes with all the bottles.  I guess I would start with one entire day doing warm milk with all of her bottles, if she takes it then try to lower the temp the next day again for the entire day.  Progressively working your way down to cold milk.

  • I have no experience first hand, but I would probably try the slow transition the way Jasha is suggesting. Good luck!

  • We're still using bottles of half formula (room temperature) and half WCM (cold) here.  We'll be transitioning to full WCM within the week; I expect to let it sit out 30 min or so before offering it to cut the cold.  We just got through a tough cold and another round of teething so I'm taking a break before trying the next thing (move from bottle to cup).  Definitely transition, warm, slightly warm, room temperature etc.  For whichever feedings it suits you (or LO).  GL.

  • We started warming bottles less around 9 months, and by 11 they were drinking them cold, so no issue at all moving to WCM. I think that's the place to start.
