You should take the class when you are about two months away from your due date. That way the memory will still be relatively fresh, but you won't be so close to your due date that you have a high risk of missing the course because you are already in labor. I was due at the end of Jan and took mine in late Nov/ early Dec.
Ditto PP. Most of mine have a 'suggested time frame' on when to take them. I would register for them asap though, they fill up quickly (at least in my area).
We are using St Davids on Mopac and after looking at the schedule for classes and talking to the instructor we realized that if we waited she would not be able to fit us in until the middle of October which felt too late. So she put us into her early August classes that had a cancellation. Apparently September and October are busy birth months for Austin from what the instructor told us. You might want to double check scheduling for your classes to see when they have room first.

I really dont think I will want to take the class in December since I will be leaving town for two or three weeks in December, maybe I'll look into November...

My Doula does my brithing classes. I'm due end of December and am doing my classes the last 2 weeks of October-the first 2 weeks of November. With DD it was a 6 week course and it ended right about 34 weeks. That seems to be the ideal time to end the classes.
